My Self-Awareness

The value (worthy) that we give to ourselves is reflected on the behavior of our act towards others. And that is how people perceive us as a whole.

Self aware is not only about our appearance. But, it is more about being mindful of what we do especially towards other and ourselves as well. Continuously watching our behavior. How we talk, how we respond to others, how we give feedback. Does our attitude “polite enough” that it can be accepted by the heart of the consciousness?

When we are mindful of ourselves, the way we speak touch other people’s heart. The way we look at their eyes feel each of their breath and bring deeper connection with them. They way we touch, teach them how to be vulnerable. And it is not easy to act this way. Because in order to be able to act this way, we need to approach ourselves first. Be honest and polite to ourselves and commit to be continuously taking care of ourselves.

Honesty is probably the hardest task in this life. Because when we are honest (to ourselves), we will see the horrible things that hurts us most and created that pain again. But, there in no way out anyway. The only way to understand the pain is to face it once again, feel it and accept it. That it is already happen.

And our body such an intelligent vehicle. The body will give signs (of sickness) when the feeling is getting to much. Selfishness cause to the illness in the stomach area, sadness cause to the illness in the chest area, fear cause to the illness on the kidney, bladder and hamstring, hatred or envy create illness in the heart organ and rage create the illness in the liver organ. This knowledge is based on the teaching of Cosmology and the meridian line of Chinese medicine, both science have been used to cure many types of illness for many years.

Once of my good friend told me that he just got bronchitis problem, and this illness caused him cough so much. And then I asked him if he wanted to do some breath work, I will be happy to assist. His answer was “Not now..” I know for fact that he knew, this process is going to be painful. The breath will show him what actually cause his sickness, and in the mean time he doesn’t want to know about it. I said, “I’ll be here when you are ready.”

Open Class March 2017

“I have learned that is only through courage, we can all find that profound space within us.”

The healing journey has become even deeper nowadays. Most participants reached out their feelings and started to understand “the pain”. Sometimes (in fact most of the time), this is not the most beautiful place to visit. Yet, only by understanding it, allowing it to happen and accept that it has happened, it only can be released.

The battle with the fabricated mind is still on! See you in April.

Healing Breath Weekend Retreat

Most of our trauma happens at the time that we have forgotten. Each of the memory carries different feelings that is so painful as we don’t want to see it anymore. Our brain has erased the memory to prevent the body to experience it in the future. However, as the mind has forgotten, the body remembers. Each of that trauma has been stored in the muscle. The pain has been stored in the body. So we don’t have other choice, so we all suffer.

The experience that cause our suffering has happened, but we don’t have to suffer all the time. The only way to be free to this suffering is to release and let go of that pain by understanding the feelings. This way we can make each time as precious as it should be, this way we can prevent the suffering to be repeated by us or by others.

Healing Breath Semi-Private Class

Are you often feeling easily annoyed or angry by something unimportant when you get through your daily activities? This might be caused by the suppressed feelings and emotions that you have carried most of the time, without realizing.

When we faced with stress situation, our body will automatically respond in flight or fight mode. Or if the stress is too much, sometimes the body respond with freeze mode. In this trauma situation, the body remembers the most. Each trauma situation carries feelings within each memories, and those feelings stays in the body. What the mind has forgotten, the body remembers long after.

Unfortunately, we are tend to suppressed these feelings in our daily life. Because we are busy with our work or because the tradition has not allowed us to express the feelings. When the feelings and emotions are not freely expressed, they are suppressed in the body. Suppressing feelings and emotions takes a lot of energy. The goal of our practice is to allow the opportunity for suppressed feelings to arise and allow unexpressed charge to be released.

Healing Breath Semi-Private Class is three to four hours of breath work session, maximum 4 participants. With less participants, our facilitators will be able to direct their attention to each participants deeper throughout the practice, this way the participants can be more focus on their own practice and allow the release to happen. Healing Breath Open Class

All of human activities are basically either conscious or unconscious. Movements of our limbs (legs, arms, etc) are conscious; it only moves when we want it to move. While the activities of our heart beat, or the inner organs (like kidneys or stomach) are unconscious, most of the time the work of these organs happen automatically without us knowing it.  However, our breath is unique. It can happen both conscious or unconscious.

Conscious breathing happen when we aware of our breath, remember to breath slow or when we practice pranayama, this activities also called as “controlled breathing”. While unconscious breathing happen when we don’t realize that we are breathing, mostly happen on our daily life especially when we are under stress or too busy with our daily obligations.

Without we realize, restricted breathing pattern happen when we tend to the breath unconsciously. This restricted breathing are mostly caused by the suppression of emotions and feelings. Therefore the goal of the practice is to allow the emotions and feelings arise to the surface and allowing it to be expressed and released.

In our  Healing Breath Open Class we practice long-deep-connected breathing. The breath is flowing continuous and naturally. In the practice we don’t try to control the breath, but we still aware of the breath and that we must practice deep and connected breathing.

Healing Breath Open Class is three to four hours of breath work practice with maximum 12 participants on each session. The session is normally happen on monthly basis at our wellness center Yoga Umah Shakti in Sanur. The agenda of the breath work session including:

  • Self introduction & intention setting, introduction about breathing, core of the problem, benefits, expectation, breathing techniques and breathing practice (75 minutes)
  • Toilet break (10 minutes)
  • Breath work and healing (70 minutes)
  • Awakening, sharing, and closing (45 minutes)

Fear

Fear is that feeling when you afraid to face the darkest part of the night, not knowing that it is almost dawn.

Do you know that the darkest part of the night happens few hours before dawn? Those few hours are the most powerful part of the night. Most magic happens in those hours, most curse happens in those hours too.

Fear is when you react negatively before anything (even) happen to you. Constantly being suspicious with your life, thinking that something will go wrong. Fear is that feeling of distrustful to our own universe. The universe that we have created.

Fear is probably the most powerful feelings that we try to avoid all the time. It is difficult for us because we have learned that being born is a scary thing to happen. Imagine when we live in the womb, with a nice floating bed, warm, soft and quiet. And then, without knowing it, we were rejected from that comfy bubble. Arrive to a cold, bright, loud hospital room. The first thing that we learn was: this world is a scary place. Our mind have forgotten about it, but our body remembers.

Not only that, in our first 10 years we depend on our parents and our families. We learn to be depending on others.  We learn to trust them, we learn to be fit to the society, even tough sometimes things not always went the way we want. Leave us feeling lonely and distrust, afraid and not confident.

We afraid to do anything. We afraid to make decision, we afraid to love, we afraid to stand for ourselves, we afraid to protect those who we love most, we even afraid to feel our feelings. We afraid about everything.

This worry creates insecurity. In fact we learned insecurity from our surrounding, our parents and our society. We feel insecure that we don’t have money, we feel insecure that don’t look sexy and attractive, we feel insecure that we can’t express our sexuality and love.

This fear is within everything. Fear of losing, fear of having. Fear of wanting, fear of rejecting. Fear of hating, fear of loving.

What shall we do?
